Joysticks

Comedy  United States of America

Joysticks is a comedy movie released in 1983 that revolves around a video arcade called "Total Entertainment Network" (TEN) and its regular customers. The arcade is owned by Jefferson Bailey (played by Joe Don Baker), a wealthy businessman who sees the arcade as a threat to the mental health of children.

Bailey enlists the help of his associate and lawyer, Joseph Rutter (played by Jim Greenleaf), to shut down the arcade. Rutter approaches Mayor Neville (played by Scott McGinnis), who is also a regular player at the arcade, and convinces him to pass a new ordinance that would make the operation of video arcades illegal in the town.

The arcade's regular customers, led by Eugene Groebe (played by Scott McGinnis), a high school student and the best player in the arcade, decide to fight back against the ban. They seek the help of Arnie (played by Leif Green), a computer genius who creates a virus to hack into the town's computer system and disrupts the ban's progress.

As the battle between the arcade owners and the town officials intensifies, Bailey hires a group of ruthless bikers to intimidate and scare the arcade's customers. However, the arcade's customers band together with the help of King Vidiot, a mysterious and legendary arcade game wizard, and take down the bikers in a final showdown.

In the end, the arcade is saved from shutdown, and the arcade owners and customers celebrate their victory with a big party. Joysticks is a fun-filled movie with a lot of arcade gaming action, comedy, and some romance.
