Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost revolves around the death of a young girl named Candace Pennington. Jesse, the former big-city detective and now police chief of a small Massachusetts town, takes it upon himself to investigate the case after Candace's father, a former colleague of his, begs for his help. Initially, the death is ruled as a suicide, but Jesse is convinced otherwise.
Meanwhile, the town council appoints a new police chief, Luke Shuster, who is arrogant and rude towards Jesse and his team.
