Jeffrey is a romantic comedy that was released in 1995 and directed by Christopher Ashley. The film follows the life of a young gay man named Jeffrey (played by Steven Weber) who decides to become celibate after a series of failed relationships. He fears contracting AIDS, which was a major health epidemic in the gay community during the 1990s.

As he tries to adjust to a life without sex, he meets a man named Steve (played by Michael T. Weiss) who he immediately falls in love with. However, Steve is HIV positive and struggling with his condition. Jeffrey must decide whether or not he is willing to take the risk of dating someone who may die from AIDS.

The movie features a diverse cast of characters, including Jeffrey's flamboyant friend, Sterling (played by Nathan Lane), and his non-binary friend, Darius (played by Patrick Stewart). The film tackles serious issues such as AIDS, homophobia, and the fear of commitment, but also manages to maintain a lighthearted tone throughout.

Jeffrey ultimately learns that he cannot live his life in fear and that love is worth taking risks for. The film ends on a hopeful note, with Jeffrey and Steve deciding to take their relationship one day at a time, despite the possibility of heartbreak in the future.
