Ellen Brody, still traumatized by her husband's death by a great white shark, decides to visit her son Michael in the Bahamas. However, shortly after her arrival, Michael and his colleague, Jake, who's studying the behavior of conch shells, are killed in a shark attack.
Ellen becomes convinced that the shark that killed her son is the same one that killed her husband years ago and has followed her to the Bahamas for revenge. Despite the skepticism of her family and friends, she sets out to hunt down and kill the shark herself.
With the help of Jake's brother, Hoagie, Ellen heads out to sea to face the great white in a final confrontation. She lures the shark into pursuing her boat, then impales it with the prow, causing a massive explosion that destroys the shark and saves her family from certain death.
While Jaws: The Revenge received negative reviews from critics, it remains a popular entry in the Jaws franchise, thanks in part to the iconic image of Ellen Brody taking on a great white shark by herself.
