In Jaws 2, Police Chief Brody is still haunted by the events of the first film, where a massive great white shark terrorized the small town of Amity. However, when a group of divers disappear and a water skier is killed, Brody realizes that another shark is patrolling the waters of Amity.
Despite his warnings, the town officials refuse to close the beaches, fearing a loss of income during the peak tourist season. As more and more people fall victim to the shark, Brody teams up with a group of teenagers to hunt down and kill the creature.
As they track the shark, Brody and the teens are confronted with numerous obstacles, including a deadly powerboat explosion and a swarm of jellyfish. Ultimately, they are able to lure the shark into a trap and kill it, but not before it claims more lives.
Jaws 2 was released in 1978 and directed by Jeannot Szwarc. It starred Roy Scheider as Brody, as well as Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, and Joseph Mascolo. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film was a box office success, grossing over $187 million worldwide.
