The film follows Ethan Brand, a struggling, alcoholic rock musician who is on tour when he receives word that a young girl named Janie Jones is seeking him out. Initially reluctant to take responsibility for her, Ethan slowly begins to form a relationship with Janie as they travel together on his tour bus.
As they spend time together, Ethan begins to see himself in Janie and learns to embrace his role as a father. However, their budding relationship is tested when Janie's mother reappears and demands custody of her daughter. Ethan and Janie must fight to stay together as they navigate the ups and downs of the music industry and the challenges of their complicated family dynamic.
