The movie Jack was released in 1996 and stars Robin Williams as Jack Powell, the titular character. As a child, Jack is diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Werner syndrome, which causes him to age rapidly and appear much older than his peers. Despite his physical appearance, Jack is still emotionally and mentally a child.
Due to his rapid aging, Jack has been homeschooled his entire life, but at the age of 10, he convinces his parents to let him attend public school. At school, Jack is initially met with ridicule and disbelief from his classmates, who struggle to understand why he looks like a middle-aged man.
Despite the challenges he faces, Jack is determined to fit in and make friends. He bonds with his fifth-grade teacher, Mr. Woodruff (played by Bill Cosby), who encourages Jack to embrace his uniqueness and to not be afraid to be himself. Through Mr. Woodruff's guidance and support, Jack is able to win over his classmates and become a beloved member of the school community.
