In the movie, Jack is a young farmhand who dreams of adventure and exploring the world beyond his small village. One day, while in the city, he comes across a monk who is selling a handful of magic beans. The monk tells Jack that the beans have the power to open a gateway to a world above the clouds, a place where Jack can achieve his dreams of adventure.
Excited by the prospect, Jack trades his horse and cart for the magic beans, but when he returns home, he is promptly scolded by his uncle, who throws the beans out of the window. Overnight, the beans grow into a massive beanstalk that reaches up into the clouds, and Jack is inadvertently transported to a world of giants.
There, he meets Princess Isabelle, who has been taken captive by the giants, including their leader, General Fallon, who plans to use Isabelle as a sacrifice to receive the power of the beans. Jack and Isabelle team up with a group of knights and soldiers to try and stop the giants and rescue the princess.
As the group navigates the treacherous land of the giants, they discover that the giants have a long history with the humans, and an ancient war that has been dormant for centuries is reignited. Jack must decide whether to continue fighting the giants or try to make peace before it's too late for both humans and giants.
