In It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, the Muppets are struggling to put together a Christmas show to save their theater from being bought by the villainous Miss Bitterman. Along the way, they face many challenges, including losing the only copy of their contract to Bitterman's trickery and facing a huge debt. They also meet a guardian angel, Daniel, who helps them see the true meaning of Christmas and selflessness.
To save the theater, the Muppets all pitch in to generate money, including selling off items like Gonzo's prized bowling ball and Fozzie's bear skin rug. Eventually, Miss Bitterman makes a deal with them, saying that if they can raise twice the amount of their debt by midnight on Christmas Eve, she will concede the theater back to them.

They even enlist the help of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse to cook up a storm in the kitchen.
