It Chapter Two is a horror film based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. It follows the events of the first film, which took place when the Losers' Club were children. In this sequel, which takes place 27 years after those events, the characters are all adults.
The film begins with a brutal hate crime that sets the events of the story in motion. Mike Hanlon, the only member of the Losers' Club who remained in Derry, calls the other members to tell them that Pennywise has returned. He reminds them of the oath they made as children to return to Derry if he ever did.
The Losers' Club members, now successful adults, return to Derry one by one. They all have forgotten much of their past, and it's only when they reunite that they begin to remember the horrors of their childhood. As they approach the town, they start to collide with their own memories – including flashbacks of their first encounter with the shape-shifting monster.
The group starts to work together to destroy Pennywise once and for all. But as they delve deeper into their past, they realize that stopping the monster may require sacrifices they never expected to make.
The reunion of the Losers' Club brings a satisfying conclusion to the story that began with the first It film in 2017. It Chapter Two uses a mix of horror, humor, heart, and excellent performances to deliver a spellbinding finale.
