Island of Fire is a 1990 Hong Kong action movie, directed by Chu Yen-ping and starring Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Andy Lau. The movie follows a police detective named Chang (played by Andy Lau), who is sent undercover to investigate a corrupt prison run by a ruthless warden (played by Jackie Chan).
Chang soon discovers that the prison is a front for a secret operation that involves faking the deaths of prisoners and using them as expendable assassins. The warden, who has connections with the criminal underworld, uses these assassins to carry out his dirty work. Chang meets a group of prisoners, including Dylan Boyd (played by Tony Leung Ka-fai), who he befriends and tries to help escape.
Things get complicated when the warden finds out about Chang’s investigation and assigns him to assassinate a rival gang leader. Chang is torn between his duty to complete the mission and his moral conscience, which leads to a showdown between him and the corrupt warden.
