The 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers stars Donald Sutherland as Matthew Bennell, a health inspector who begins to suspect something is wrong when his friend, Elizabeth (Brooke Adams), insists that her husband is not her husband. As more and more people in San Francisco seem to be acting strangely, Bennell teams up with his colleague, Dr. Kibner (Leonard Nimoy), to investigate.

They discover that alien spores are taking over human bodies while they sleep, creating emotionless duplicates. The duplicates look and sound like their human counterparts, but lack any empathy or individuality. As the invasion spreads, Bennell and a small group of friends, including Elizabeth, her coworker Jack (Jeff Goldblum), and his wife Nancy (Veronica Cartwright), must stay awake and evade the duplicates in order to survive.

The film is notable for its tense, eerie atmosphere and its commentary on conformity and the loss of individuality in society. It also features a famous climactic scene that has become one of the most iconic endings in horror movie history.
