Interview with the Vampire is a film based on the novel of the same name by Anne Rice. The movie tells the story of Louis de Pointe du Lac, a man who is transformed into a vampire by Lestat de Lioncourt in 18th century Louisiana.
Louis, played by Brad Pitt, is struggling to come to terms with his new existence as a vampire and his insatiable thirst for blood. He is approached by a journalist, played by Christian Slater, who is curious about his story. Louis agrees to tell him everything, and the movie is framed as a series of flashbacks as Louis recounts his life story to the reporter.
Louis tells of his love for a woman named Claudia, played by Kirsten Dunst, who was also turned into a vampire by Lestat. Claudia and Louis form a close bond, but their relationship is complicated by their immortality and the fact that they can never grow old together.
The story is also filled with themes of betrayal, as Lestat constantly manipulates Louis and Claudia for his own purposes. Eventually, Louis and Claudia turn on Lestat and attempt to kill him, but they are unsuccessful.
The movie ends with Louis and the reporter parting ways, and Louis disappearing into the night. The film was a critical and commercial success, with standout performances from Pitt, Dunst, and Tom Cruise as Lestat.
