Insta Famous is a coming-of-age film that follows three high school students who are obsessed with social media and becoming famous online. The students, Jenna, Carter, and Ethan, each have their own motivations for wanting to become Insta famous. Jenna wants to become an influencer and make money off of sponsored posts, while Carter wants to impress his crush and gain more followers than his popular sister. Ethan, on the other hand, wants to use social media as a platform to express himself and showcase his love for photography.

Jenna starts a fake relationship with a popular YouTuber, Carter creates a viral video stunt, and Ethan starts a photography project that captures the attention of local news outlets. As they become more popular online, the students start to lose sight of who they truly are and the real-life relationships that matter most to them.
