The Clouseau Conundrum: Double Trouble in the Great Train Robbery

Comedy,Crime  United Kingdom

Inspector Clouseau is a 1968 comedy film directed by Bud Yorkin, and starring Alan Arkin as the bumbling French detective, Jacques Clouseau. The film follows Clouseau as he is sent to London on a special assignment to assist Scotland Yard in solving the Great Train Robbery, a notorious crime that was committed in 1963.

While on his mission, Clouseau discovers that a criminal organization has been using the stolen money to finance an even more elaborate scheme. Desperate to stop them, Clouseau teams up with the beautiful and mysterious Lady Lytton (played by Delia Boccardo) to crack the case.

However, things take a hilarious turn when it is revealed that there is another Clouseau in town- a British dentist named Claude Russof (played by Frank Finlay) who happens to have the same physical resemblance to the French detective. Chaos ensues as the two Clouseaus constantly cross paths and interfere with each other's investigations.

The film was a departure from the previous Pink Panther films, as it did not feature Peter Sellers in the lead role, and instead opted for a different actor to portray the iconic character. Although it was not as well-received as the earlier films, Inspector Clouseau still garnered a cult following for its zany humor and slapstick comedy.
