Inseminoid, also known as Horror Planet, is a British science fiction-horror film released in 1981. Directed by Norman J. Warren, the film is set on a distant planet named Xarbia, where a team of archaeologists has been investigating an ancient civilization of humanoid creatures.
During one of their explorations, the team discovers a mysterious crystaline object that emits strange signals. As they study the artifact, a strange alien creature attacks them and impregnates one of the team members, Sandy. Soon after, Sandy begins to exhibit disturbed behavior, including increased strength and aggression.
Unbeknownst to the rest of the team, Sandy has given birth to a monstrous alien creature that quickly grows to adult size. As the creature begins to attack and kill the remaining team members, it becomes clear that Sandy has been partially taken over by the alien DNA and is under its control. The team must fight for their survival against both Sandy and the deadly alien creature she has birthed.
Inseminoid is considered to be a cult classic of the supernatural horror genre, known for its violent and gory content and unique science fiction elements. The film was made on a modest budget of $1 million but managed to gross over $25 million in the box office, becoming one of the most successful low-budget British films of its time.
