The yuppie couple in question is David and Diana Murphy, played by Woody Harrelson and Demi Moore. They are happily married but struggling financially. Gage approaches them while they are on a trip to Las Vegas and makes the offer, promising that it would only be a one-time arrangement and that it would solve all of their financial problems. After much discussion, David and Diana agree, but the experience has lasting and devastating consequences for their marriage and their individual psyches.
