In The Mix is a 2005 romantic comedy-drama film directed by Ron Underwood. The film stars Usher as Darrell, a DJ who saves the life of Frank Pacelli, a powerful mobster played by Chazz Palminteri. As a token of his gratitude, Pacelli appoints Darrell as the bodyguard for his beautiful daughter, Dolly (played by Emmanuelle Chriqui).
Despite his initial reluctance, Darrell agrees to the assignment and is immediately drawn to Dolly's beauty and charm. However, their budding romance is complicated by the fact that Dolly is engaged to a slick businessman named Chad (played by Robert Davi) who is secretly working with one of Pacelli's enemies.
As Darrell struggles to protect Dolly from harm, he must also navigate the treacherous world of the mafia and keep his own feelings in check.
