The film In Like Flint is a sequel to the 1966 film Our Man Flint. It features James Coburn reprising his role as Derek Flint, a suave and skilled secret agent who is recruited once again in a global conspiracy to overthrow world leaders.
The film opens with Flint leading a luxurious life, shirking his former responsibilities as a spy and instead focusing on his hobby of dolphin training. However, he is soon called back into action by his ex-boss Lloyd Cramden (Lee J. Cobb), when Cramden inexplicably finds himself missing 90 seconds of his life while golfing with the President of the United States (Andrew Duggan).
Flint investigates and discovers that the President is actually an impostor, an actor named Andrew Merriweather (Michael St. Clair), who has been brainwashed by a group of women led by Madelaine (Anna Lee), a former lover of Flint's. The women run a network of beauty salons that serve as fronts for their scheme to subliminally control men in power, including the President of the United States.
Flint, with the help of Cramden, his assistant Malcolm Rodney (Steve Ihnat), and a team of female spies, must thwart the women's plans and rescue the real President. Along the way, Flint engages in various missions, including infiltrating Madelaine's headquarters and undergoing a training regimen to resist subliminal messages.
The film is a tongue-in-cheek spy adventure, complete with gadgets, exotic locations, and over-the-top action sequences. James Coburn plays Derek Flint with witty charm and confident swagger, making the film a fun and entertaining watch.
