In Dreams is a supernatural horror movie directed by Neil Jordan and released in 1999. The film stars Annette Bening, Robert Downey Jr., and Aidan Quinn in lead roles. The story follows a housewife named Claire Cooper who begins to have vivid dreams of a young girl being murdered. As she digs deeper into her dreams, she realizes that they are connected to a real-life serial killer named Vivian Thompson, who is terrorizing a small town in Massachusetts.
Claire becomes obsessed with the case and starts trying to uncover the identity of the killer. She begins to have more and more nightmares that provide clues to the killer's next moves, but her husband and those around her think she is losing her mind. Meanwhile, Vivian becomes aware of Claire's psychic abilities and starts to use her dreams to taunt and manipulate her.
As the body count rises, Claire becomes increasingly desperate to stop Vivian and save the next victim. She teams up with a local detective named Jack Kay to try and catch Vivian before it's too late. However, as they get closer to the truth, Claire realizes that her psychic connection to the killer is much stronger than she ever could have imagined.
