Comedy  United Kingdom

I'm All Right Jack is a British satirical comedy movie, directed and produced by John and Roy Boulting, and released in 1959. The movie features an ensemble cast that includes Peter Sellers, Ian Carmichael, Terry-Thomas, and Richard Attenborough.

The story revolves around Stanley Windrush (played by Ian Carmichael), a naive and idealistic young man who returns from the war with dreams of a successful career in business. However, he soon realizes that the reality of post-war Britain is vastly different from his expectations, and he struggles to find work despite his qualifications.

Eventually, Stanley secures a job at the Uncle Fred detergent factory, where he is assigned to work with the unorthodox and scheming personnel manager, Major Hitchcock (played by Terry-Thomas). Hitchcock sees Stanley as a potential pawn in his ongoing battle with the trade union, and encourages him to become a "spy" for management.

At the same time, Stanley is recruited by the union leader, Fred Kite (played by Peter Sellers), who wants to use him to expose the management's corruption and exploitation. Stanley finds himself caught between the two sides, with both using him as a tool in their struggle for power.

As the conflict between the management and union intensifies, Stanley's life becomes increasingly complicated, and he is forced to choose sides. Eventually, he decides to side with neither, and instead exposes both sides' corrupt practices to the media.

I'm All Right Jack is a biting satire on the British class system, industrial relations, and political power dynamics of the post-war era. It received critical acclaim and was a box office success upon its release, and is now regarded as a classic British comedy movie.
