III (also known as "The Ritual") is a 2015 Bulgarian horror film directed by Pavel Khvaleev. The film stars Polina Davydova as Ayia and Lyubov Ignatushko as Mirra.
The film takes place in a small European town where a mysterious disease is ravaging the population. After their mother's death, Ayia's younger sister, Mirra, falls ill. With conventional medicine failing to cure her, Ayia seeks help from Father Herman, a parish priest and close family friend.
Father Herman tells Ayia that the only way to save her sister is to enter her subconscious and discover the true cause of her illness. He gives Ayia a book entitled "The Book of the Shadows" and guides her through a series of intense spiritual rituals designed to help her travel into Mirra's subconscious.
