Gilbert is a tech-savvy guy who is constantly striving to stay connected to the digital world through his smartphone. He spends most of his time engrossed in social media and dating apps, endlessly swiping through profiles and messaging potential partners. Despite his apparent self-sufficiency and independence, Gilbert is painfully isolated and yearns for a genuine human connection.
One day, Gilbert meets a woman named Alice at a coffee shop, and the two strike up a conversation. Alice is warm and engaging, with a genuine interest in the world and the people around her. Gilbert is initially hesitant to engage with her, fearing that he won't be able to connect with her in person as well as he can through his phone.
As Gilbert and Alice begin to spend more time together, Gilbert examines his reliance on technology and begins to question his priorities. He realizes that while his phone can provide him with a sense of connection and validation, it's ultimately a hollow substitute for genuine human relationships.
Through his experiences with Alice, Gilbert learns to see the world around him with fresh eyes and reconnects with the things that matter most in life. In the end, Gilbert discovers that true love and connection cannot be found on a screen, but rather through meaningful interactions and genuine human relationships.
