I Want Candy is a British comedy film directed by Stephen Surjik, released in 2007. The story revolves around two college students, Joe (Tom Riley) and Baggy (Tom Burke), who aspire to become successful film producers in Hollywood. With little experience and no connections, their dreams seem like a longshot until they stumble upon a competition for amateur filmmakers.
The competition is being held by a sleazy American film producer, Mr. Grint (Eddie Marsan), who promises to award the winning team with a budget of millions to make their movie. Joe and Baggy jump at the opportunity and immediately begin to write a script called "I Want Candy," a raunchy comedy about a group of college students trying to make a porno film.
The two friends travel to London to pitch their script to Mr. Grint, but things quickly unravel when they realize they are in over their heads. Along the way, they encounter a series of mishaps, including accidentally directing a pornographic movie and competing against a team of talented filmmakers.
With the help of their eccentric film teacher, played by Carmen Electra, and a few other unlikely allies, Joe and Baggy fight for their dreams and eventually become successful filmmakers. I Want Candy is a hilarious and entertaining film about the struggles of breaking into the film industry and the lengths people will go to in pursuit of their dreams.
