Del is played by Peter Dinklage, who is the last man on Earth after a mysterious apocalypse wipes out the human race. He spends his days cleaning up the quiet town he lives in, burying the dead and maintaining the infrastructure of the town. He enjoys the peace and quiet of his own company and believes that he has found a utopia for himself.
However, everything changes when Del meets Grace, played by Elle Fanning. She is a free-spirited and curious young woman who survived the apocalypse by staying in a bunker with her family. She is fascinated by Del's solitary lifestyle and wants to stay with him.
Despite his initial reluctance, Del allows Grace to stay with him, and they begin to form a relationship. As they spend more time together, they start to unravel the mysteries of the apocalypse and discover that there might be more survivors out there.
The film is directed by Reed Morano, and it explores themes of loneliness, human connections, and survival in a post-apocalyptic world. It was released in 2018 to critical acclaim and has been praised for its unique take on the genre, as well as the performances of its two lead actors.
