I Sell the Dead is a horror-comedy film set in the late 18th century in England. The movie follows the story of two young men, Arthur Blake and Willie Grimes, who make a living by stealing bodies from graves and selling them to a mad scientist.
As the story unfolds, we see the duo becoming more successful with their work and even branching out into the black market of selling supernatural beings like vampires and werewolves.
However, their illegal business attracts the attention of rival gangs and the authorities, leading to their eventual arrest and sentencing to death by guillotine.
With nothing left to lose, Arthur decides to tell his life story to Father Francis Duffy, a priest who visits him in prison. As he narrates his tale, he reveals the dark and humorous side of their grave-robbing adventures, including encounters with all kinds of grotesque creatures.
I Sell the Dead is a clever and entertaining blend of horror and comedy, with excellent performances by the cast, including Ron Perlman as Father Duffy, and Dominic Monaghan as Arthur Blake. The film was directed by Glenn McQuaid and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008.
