The movie follows two firefighters, Chuck Ford and Larry Valentine, who work closely together and are extremely loyal to each other. When Larry's wife dies, he realizes that he needs to secure domestic partner benefits for his two children so that they will be taken care of in the event of his death.
To do this, Larry asks Chuck to pose as his gay partner, believing that this will allow him to secure the benefits he needs. Chuck agrees to help his friend, even though he is not actually gay.
As they navigate this new territory, Chuck and Larry must deal with a variety of challenges, including a suspicious bureaucrat who comes to investigate their relationship, a fire that threatens their lives, and the unexpected feelings that begin to develop between them.
Ultimately, Chuck and Larry must learn to embrace their true selves and accept each other as they are, even as they work to maintain the illusion of their fake relationship. Will they be able to pull it off and secure the benefits that Larry needs for his family? You'll have to watch the movie to find out!
