After her escape, Aubrey's parents embrace the girl claiming to be their daughter, but Aubrey insists that she is not who they think she is. She has different memories, and her body has unfamiliar scars and tattoos. The police are skeptical, and Aubrey is sent to a mental institution.
Meanwhile, another girl is found dead, and Aubrey's town is shocked by the grisly crime. Aubrey's concerned boyfriend begins to investigate her past, leading him to discover a darker side to Aubrey's life that she had kept hidden. As the mystery deepens, Aubrey's captor continues to taunt her, leading her to a final showdown in a twisted game of cat and mouse.
