I Got A Monster is a documentary film directed by Kevin Rafferty that explores the shocking story of police corruption in Baltimore. The film features interviews with Ivan Bates, a defense attorney who had been fighting against police corruption for years, as well as with some of the victims of these crimes.
The story focuses on the Gun Trace Task Force, a group of elite police officers who were tasked with taking guns off the streets of Baltimore. However, over time, these officers began to engage in criminal behavior themselves, robbing drug dealers and innocent citizens, planting evidence, and falsifying reports.
The film details the cat-and-mouse game between the corrupt officers and Ivan Bates, who was trying to expose their criminal activities and bring them to justice. It also examines the systemic issues that allowed this corruption to thrive, including a lack of accountability and oversight within the Baltimore Police Department.
