In the movie I Feel Pretty, the main character, Renee Bennett (played by Amy Schumer), is a young woman who struggles with low self-esteem and confidence issues. She works in an office in New York City and often compares herself to the beautiful and glamourous women around her, feeling inadequate and unattractive.
One day, after a fall during a spin class, Renee hits her head and wakes up believing she is now irresistibly beautiful and confident. She starts to see herself in a completely new light, walking with a newfound grace and commanding attention wherever she goes.
As her newfound confidence continues to grow, Renee begins to chase her dreams. She applies for a job at a high-end makeup company and meets Ethan (Rory Scovel), a charming guy who finds her quirky personality endearing. However, as Renee's confidence reaches new heights, she finds herself alienating her closest friends and forgetting who she truly is.
Eventually, Renee realizes that her newfound confidence was always within her, and her appearance was never what held her back. She learns to love and accept herself just the way she is and find true happiness.
I Feel Pretty is a comedic take on body positivity, self-love, and the societal pressures placed on women to conform to a certain standard of beauty.
