I due carabinieri

Comedy  Italy

I Due Carabinieri (meaning "The Two Carabinieri") is a 1984 crime comedy film produced by C.G. Silver Film. The movie was directed by Carlo Verdone himself and stars him alongside Enrico Montesano, Massimo Boldi, John Steiner, and Paola Onofri.

The movie centers around the comically inept duo of Italian carabinieri (military police), Franco and Ciccio, who are tasked with guarding an American impersonator, named George Benson, who is set to perform in a concert in Rome. However, before the concert begins, the impostor is kidnapped by a gang of international criminals, led by the villainous Black Hand (John Steiner).

Despite being the worst carabinieri in the police force, Franco and Ciccio take the matter into their own hands and embark on a madcap mission to rescue the kidnapee. Along the way, they face numerous obstacles and challenges, including dealing with a love-struck fan, navigating the Italian underworld, and surviving the ruthless Black Hand's relentless attacks.

As they delve deeper into the mysterious kidnapping, they uncover a sinister conspiracy that threatens them and the entire city. With their signature brand of buffoonery, they must overcome their own incompetence and save George Benson before it's too late.

In the end, the bumbling duo manages to save the day, and the concert goes on as planned. The criminals are apprehended, and everyone lives happily ever after (except for Franco and Ciccio, who undoubtedly get into some new mischief).
