I Am Woman is an upcoming biopic directed by Unjoo Moon and tells the untold story of the legendary singer, actor, and activist, Helen Reddy. The movie follows Reddy's journey from her native Australia to the United States, where she struggled to establish her music career and became one of the most successful female recording artists of the 1970s.
As a single mother, Reddy faced numerous challenges in her quest for success, but she persevered and wrote and performed the iconic feminist anthem "I Am Woman," which became a symbol of female empowerment and an anthem for the women's liberation movement. The film also delves into her personal life, including her relationships with her manager/husband and her children.
The movie stars Tilda Cobham-Hervey as Helen Reddy, and other cast members include Evan Peters, Danielle Macdonald, Dusty Sorg, and Matty Cardarople. The film is set to be released on September 11, 2020.
