I Am Somebody's Child: The Regina Louise Story is a Lifetime original movie based on the memoirs of Regina Louise, a woman who endured a harrowing journey through the foster care system in the United States. Regina, an African American girl, was abandoned by her mother at a young age and sent to live in various foster homes.

The movie portrays Regina's trajectory through the system, as she is shuffled from one home to another, facing abuse and neglect along the way. Despite her hardships, Regina remains hopeful and determined, always seeking a place to call home.

One of the foster parents that Regina encounters is Jeanne, a white woman who sees potential in the young girl. Jeanne becomes a mentor figure for Regina, offering her guidance and support, and even attempting to adopt her. However, their efforts are thwarted by a racially motivated court ruling, which leaves Regina once again alone in the system.

The movie follows Regina as she struggles to make sense of her past and find stability in her present. Ultimately, she discovers that she is "somebody's child," deserving of love and care, and that she has the power to move beyond her past and create a fulfilling future for herself.

The film stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Jeanne, Angela Fairley as the older Regina, and Monique Coleman as the younger Regina. It was directed by Janice Cooke-Leonard and written by Camille Thomasson.
