I Am Number Four is a 2011 sci-fi action thriller film directed by D.J. Caruso and starring Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Teresa Palmer, and Dianna Agron. The film is based on the young adult novel of the same name by Pittacus Lore (a pseudonym for authors James Frey and Jobie Hughes) and is the first installment in The Lorien Legacies book series.

The story follows John Smith, a teenage alien from the planet Lorien, who is on the run with his guardian, Henri, after their home planet was destroyed by the evil Mogadorians. John is not an ordinary teenager; he is one of nine gifted alien children with extraordinary powers known as the Garde. Each Garde member is named and numbered. John is number four, and he has been identified as a target for the Mogadorians, who are hunting down and killing the Garde in order. The first three have already been killed, and John knows he is next.

To stay alive, John assumes a new identity and moves to Paradise, Ohio, where he meets and falls for a local girl named Sarah Hart. As they grow closer, John's powers begin to manifest, attracting unwanted attention from the Mogadorians and their human allies, the sinister group known as the "The Seekers." John must now fight to stay hidden and protect himself and those he cares about while learning to control his powers and uncovering the truth about his past and destiny.

I Am Number Four is a fast-paced and thrilling adventure that combines sci-fi, action, and romance elements. The film features spectacular action sequences, stunning visual effects, and a strong ensemble cast that delivers solid performances. While it received mixed reviews from critics, the film was a modest box office success, grossing over $146 million worldwide, and has gained a cult following among fans of the book series.
