Human Capital is a 2019 drama film directed by Marc Meyers. It is based on a novel of the same name by Stephen Amidon. The movie features an ensemble cast including Liev Schreiber, Marisa Tomei, Peter Sarsgaard, Maya Hawke, and Alex Wolff.

The story follows the lives of two families – the affluent and haughty Langs, and the working-class Markeys. Drew Hagel, a waiter at a fancy restaurant, also and employee of Jonathan Wheats the head of Langs company is desperate to get into the elite class and takes an investment opportunity that the wealthy Langs family supports. But when he gets run off the road biking home from a party hosted by the Langs, he finds himself the victim of their malicious actions, but no one is willing to take responsibility. Meanwhile, Drew's daughter, Shannon, is academically gifted and has caught the eye of the Langs' son, Jamie. The two start a relationship, which leads to a tragic accident that leaves a man dead.

The story is told from the perspectives of each of the main characters, revealing their secrets, motivations, and perspectives on the accident. The movie explores themes of class, greed, social status, and the consequences of actions.

Human Capital premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019 and received mixed reviews from critics. However, the performances of the cast were praised, particularly that of Marisa Tomei.
