In Howard Lovecraft and the Kingdom of Madness, Howard returns from his earlier adventure while grappling with nightmares about his still imprisoned father. He discovers that his father's powers are leaking into reality and will lead to the awakening of Cthulhu, an ancient, malevolent being. To prevent this, Howard must lead a team of adventurers to the Antarctic to retrieve a rare book that holds the key to stopping the resurrection of Cthulhu. But they soon realize that they are not alone and must fight off otherworldly creatures that roam the frigid wasteland.
