"How to Train Your Dragon" is a 2010 animated film produced by DreamWorks Animation and directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois. It is based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Cressida Cowell.

The story is set in the mythical Viking world where dragons are seen as a menace and a constant threat to the village. Hiccup is the youngest and smallest member of his tribe, but he is also very inventive and intelligent. However, he is constantly ridiculed by his father, the Viking chief, Stoick the Vast, and his peers because he is not athletic and does not fit in with the traditional Viking ways of fighting.

One night, when a dragon attack causes havoc in the village, Hiccup sees an opportunity to prove himself to his father and capture a dragon. He sneaks into the forest and manages to trap a rare and deadly Night Fury dragon with his homemade bolas. However, when he tries to prove his bravery by killing the dragon, he realizes he does not have the heart to do it and sets it free instead.

Hiccup starts to secretly observe and study the Night Fury, which he names Toothless, and discovers that although the dragon is dangerous, it is also kind and intelligent. Hiccup and Toothless form an unlikely friendship, and Hiccup learns more about the dragon's behaviors and weaknesses.

As Hiccup's bond with Toothless grows, he becomes conflicted between his love for his dragon friend and his loyalty to his Viking heritage. He struggles to find his place in the community and keep his relationship with Toothless a secret.

When a major dragon attack threatens the safety of the village, Hiccup uses his knowledge of Toothless to help the Vikings defeat the dragons without harming them. He proves to his father and his peers that dragons can be trained and befriended instead of just being killed.

"How to Train Your Dragon" is a heartwarming story about friendship, acceptance, and finding your own identity. The movie's well-crafted animation and memorable characters have made it a beloved classic among adults and children alike, spawning several sequels, TV series, and spin-offs.
