Yakira, an 18-year-old girl, is devastated when her parents announce that they are getting a divorce and will have split custody of her and her younger sister, Desi. Yakira has always been close to Desi and fears that their relationship will suffer with the separation.
In an impulsive and desperate move, Yakira decides to kidnap Desi during a visitation weekend with their father and take her on a road trip across the country. Her plan is to spend time with Desi and try to reconnect with her before the separation becomes permanent.
