Hours is a 2013 drama/thriller movie directed by Eric Heisserer and produced by Peter Safran and Todd Lieberman. The movie stars Paul Walker in his final leading role as Nolan Hayes, a father who is forced to care for his newborn daughter, Abigail, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
The movie begins with Nolan and his pregnant wife, Abigail, arriving at a New Orleans hospital just as the hurricane hits. Abigail goes into labor early and dies during delivery, leaving Nolan alone with his premature infant daughter. As the storm rages on, the hospital is evacuated and Nolan soon realizes that he and his daughter are the only ones left in the building.
With no electricity or phone service, Nolan must struggle to keep his daughter alive as the hours pass by. He scavenges the hospital for food and water, and uses his knowledge as an engineer to keep her respirator powered by a hand-cranked generator. He also faces other challenges such as looters, a lack of formula for the baby, and a dwindling supply of oxygen for her respirator.
As time passes, Nolan must confront his own guilt and grief over his wife's death, while fighting to maintain his own strength and will to survive. Meanwhile, he tries to keep his daughter alive and realizes that his love for her is the only thing keeping him going.
Throughout the movie, the audience is taken on an emotional rollercoaster as Nolan struggles to protect his daughter and keep her alive against all odds. The climactic ending is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming, as the audience witnesses Nolan's heroism and unwavering determination to save his child.
