H.O.T.S. (1979) is a comedy film directed by Gerald Seth Sindell. The film follows the journey of four college girls, Honey, O'Hara, Teri, and Samantha, who are rejected by the popular sorority on campus, Pi Nu. Instead of giving up, the girls decide to start their own sorority, titled H.O.T.S. (standing for "The Honeybee, O'Hara, Teri, and Samantha Sorority").
In an effort to become the most popular sorority on campus, H.O.T.S. sets out to steal all the men away from Pi Nu. They do this by throwing wild parties, staging outrageous stunts, and using their feminine wiles to attract male attention. Pi Nu retaliates by sabotaging H.O.T.S.'s efforts at every turn, but the girls remain determined to come out on top.
As the rivalry between the two sororities intensifies, relationships between the members of H.O.T.S. become strained. Honey, the leader of the group, begins to feel the pressure of being in charge, while Teri struggles with her feelings for a Pi Nu member named Bobby.
With a soundtrack featuring popular music of the time and plenty of scantily clad women, H.O.T.S. is a quintessential example of a raunchy, 80s-era sex comedy. Despite its lowbrow humor and predictable plot, the film enjoyed some success upon its release, spawning a sequel in 1984 titled H.O.T.S. II: The Hot Tots.
