The Nurse, played by Jodie Foster, is a tough but compassionate caretaker for the criminals who seek refuge in her hospital. She has a strict set of rules that must be followed in order to ensure the safety of her patients, including a no-guns policy and a ban on killing other patients.
As the riots outside escalate, the Nurse finds her hospital filling up with a variety of dangerous characters. There's Waikiki (Sterling K. Brown) and his brother Honolulu (Brian Tyree Henry), two robbers who are on the run after a heist gone wrong. There's Nice (Sofia Boutella), a glamorous assassin with a mysterious past. And there's Acapulco (Charlie Day), a loud-mouthed arms dealer who is always getting into trouble.
As the night wears on, tensions rise between the different factions in the hospital. The arrival of the mysterious Everest (Dave Bautista), the owner of the Artemis, only adds to the chaos. And when a familiar face from the Nurse's past shows up, she is forced to confront some long-buried secrets.
