In Hot Shots! Part Deux, Topper Harley (played by Charlie Sheen) has retired from the Navy and is living a quiet life working at a monastery. He is approached by CIA agent Jim "Wash Out" Pfaffenbach (played by Ryan Stiles) to lead a rescue mission into Iraq to save the last remaining rescue team.
The rescue team, led by Topper, is sent into Iraq to rescue the previous rescue teams who failed to retrieve American hostages left behind after the Gulf War. Along the way, they encounter a series of obstacles including enemy fire, booby traps, and a personal rivalry with the leader of the opposing forces, Saddam Hussein (played by Jerry Haleva).
Throughout the mission, Topper also faces personal demons from his past and struggles with his love for a fellow team member, Ramada (played by Valeria Golino). Ultimately, Topper and his team are able to successfully rescue the hostages and return them to safety.
Hot Shots! Part Deux is a parody of action movies and specifically, the Rambo franchise. It features over-the-top action sequences, comedic one-liners, and exaggerated characters. The film was a commercial success and has since become a cult classic.
