Hostage is a psychological thriller film directed by Florent Siri and released in 2005. The movie follows Jeff Talley (Bruce Willis), a former hostage negotiator who now works as a small-town police chief. Jeff's quiet life is disrupted when he is called to a mansion owned by Walter Smith, a wealthy businessman whose family has been taken hostage by three young delinquents.

The three criminals, Mars Krupcheck (Ben Foster), Dennis Kelly (Jonathan Tucker), and Kevin Kelly (Marshall Allman), had been planning to rob a local convenience store but changed their mind when they stumbled upon the Smith residence. However, their plan goes awry, and they find themselves trapped by the police outside the house.

As the situation intensifies, Jeff finds himself back in the role of a negotiator trying to keep everyone alive. Meanwhile, a subplot unfolds as Ashley Smith (played by Rumer Willis), Walter's daughter, is revealed to have been adopted by the same trio who killed her biological parents during a robbery. Ashley, who is now a teenager, is struggling to come to terms with her past and her loyalty to her adoptive family.

As the night wears on, the situation at the Smith mansion becomes increasingly dangerous, and Ashley must decide which side she is on. The film is a tense and gripping thriller that is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
