Bailey is a college senior who is struggling with her thesis project. She meets Darla, a young woman who is struggling with her addiction to sex. Bailey decides to write her thesis on sex addiction and convinces Darla to help her by going on a road trip across the country to re-enact Darla's experiences as a sex addict.
However, as they travel together, Bailey's true motivation for the trip is revealed - she's trying to get over a recent breakup by using Darla's experiences as a distraction. Darla, meanwhile, is using the trip to escape from her past and start a new life.
As they drive across the country, the pair engage in sexual encounters with strangers, attend sex parties, and meet a variety of colorful characters. Along the way, they begin to confront their own issues and insecurities, discovering unexpected connections and feelings for each other.
By the end of the trip, Bailey and Darla have grown closer, but they must face the consequences of their choices and decide what they truly want from each other and their lives.
