Honeydew is a horror movie directed by Devereux Milburn. It follows a young couple, Sam and Riley, who get stranded in the remote countryside when their car breaks down. They seek shelter in the home of an aging farmer named Karen and her peculiar son, Gunni.
As they settle in for the night, strange things start happening. Sam and Riley experience intense cravings for specific foods, hallucinations, and nightmares. They begin to realize that something is seriously wrong with the food they are given.
As they investigate further, they discover that Karen and Gunni have an unusual way of farming, using strange and disturbing methods. The couple soon realizes that they are in grave danger and must find a way to escape before it's too late.
Honeydew features an eerie and unsettling atmosphere, with a strong focus on sound design and visual storytelling. The film is notable for its use of practical effects and its emphasis on slow-burning tension over jump scares. The performances are excellent as well, with Sawyer Spielberg (son of Steven Spielberg) and Malin Barr delivering standout performances as Sam and Riley.
