The Honest Candidate is a South Korean comedy film released in 2020, directed by Jang Yu-jeong and starring Ra Mi-ran, Kim Mu-yeol, and Na Moon-hee.

Sang-sook (played by Ra Mi-ran) is a successful and ambitious politician who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals. She is known for her convincing speeches and her ability to manipulate the media and the public. However, while visiting her grandmother in the countryside, she accidentally drinks a traditional herbal tea that changes her personality. The tea is said to be a curse that exposes a person's true nature, and Sang-sook finds herself unable to lie or deceive anyone.

At first, Sang-sook tries to fight against the curse, but soon realizes that being honest might actually help her career. She decides to use her newfound honesty to expose the corruption and hypocrisy in the political system, starting with her own party. Her campaign becomes a sensation, and Sang-sook gains a huge following of supporters who admire her integrity and sincerity.

However, not everyone is happy with Sang-sook's new approach. Her party members, who are used to lying and manipulating their way to power, see her as a threat and try to get rid of her. Sang-sook's opponents also try to use her honesty against her, spreading rumors and digging up dirt from her past.
