The film Home Run follows Cory Brand, an arrogant pro ball player with a substance abuse problem that spirals out of control after a drunk driving incident. As a result of his actions, Cory is forced into rehab in his small hometown, where he also faces the demons of his troubled past.
Despite initial resistance to the program, Cory begins to find hope and healing as he becomes honest about his struggles and reconnects with his estranged family and friends. He takes on coaching duties for a misfit Little League team, and through the process, learns what it means to be a true leader and mentor.
As the team begins to work together and show improvement, Cory also finds redemption in their success and begins to reconcile with those he has hurt in the past. However, he soon faces a new challenge when he is offered a chance to return to the pro league, which brings his sobriety and newfound purpose into question.
In the end, Cory must choose between his old life of fame and privilege or his newfound purpose and relationships that have helped him to heal and grow. The film emphasizes the importance of forgiveness, community, and second chances in the face of addiction and adversity.
