Joe Gavilan and K.C. Calden are two LAPD detectives investigating the murder of four men in a coffee shop. As they investigate the case, they find that the victims were involved in a money laundering scheme and that their murder is linked to a major drug cartel.
Meanwhile, Gavilan is struggling to sell a mansion that he has been trying to sell for months. He is also dealing with financial problems and owes money to his ex-wife. K.C. is struggling to balance his acting career with his job as a cop, and he is also dealing with personal issues related to his father, who was also a cop.
As the investigation continues, Gavilan and K.C. must juggle their personal and professional lives, while dealing with corrupt cops, the drug cartel, and their own demons. Along the way, they receive help from a psychic named Ruby (Lena Olin), who becomes a key player in unraveling the case.
Despite the obstacles, Gavilan and K.C. eventually solve the case and bring the criminals to justice. In the end, they both make important life choices that help them to find fulfillment and happiness.
