Hollywood Ending is a 2002 comedy film written and directed by Woody Allen. The film tells the story of Val Waxman, a once successful Hollywood director who is given one last chance to revive his career when he is offered a movie to direct. However, after suffering a psychosomatic blindness, Waxman is unable to see anything on the set of his film.
With the help of his ex-wife Ellie, who is also the producer of the movie, Waxman tries to hide his blindness from the cast and crew while also trying to save his career. However, as the shoot progresses, Waxman's blindness becomes increasingly difficult to conceal, leading to a series of hilarious mishaps and misunderstandings.
Throughout the film, Allen satirizes the film industry and its often cutthroat nature, as well as the egos and insecurities of those who work in it. He also explores the themes of love, relationships, and the ability to overcome adversity.
In addition to Allen, the film features a star-studded cast including Tea Leoni, Debra Messing, George Hamilton, and Mark Rydell. Despite mixed reviews from critics, Hollywood Ending remains a beloved classic in Allen's filmography.
