The movie Hollywood & Wine is a romantic comedy that was released in 2011 and directed by Matt Berman. It stars Nicky Whelan as Diane Blaine, a struggling actress who is constantly being rejected in Hollywood due to her uncanny resemblance to Jamie Stephens, an infamous tabloid queen played by Chazz Palminteri.
Diane’s boyfriend and co-worker Jack Sanders, played by Chris Kattan, also suffers from a lack of ambition and has accumulated a large debt with a mobster named Mr. Angelo played by David Spade. Mr. Angelo happens to be a big fan of Jamie Stephens and offers to forgive Jack’s debt if he can arrange for Jamie to have dinner with him.
Desperate to find a solution, Jack comes up with a plan to convince Diane to impersonate Jamie Stephens for the evening. Initially hesitant, Diane ultimately agrees to the plan, and she and Jack attempt to create the perfect Jamie Stephens look-a-like for the dinner.
The course of the evening doesn’t go exactly as planned, and the situation becomes even more complicated as Diane finds herself developing feelings for Mr. Angelo’s assistant, a charming and handsome man named Gordon played by Kevin Farley.
